The Fox by Ylvis free essay sample

The Fox is the most recent discharge from Ylvis. The track, which has circulated around the web since it’s discharge this month, is around one of life’s obvious most prominent secrets: what sound do foxes make? I kid you not. You click the play catch, and you are at first met with what resembles the beginning of an awful Miley Cyrus music video. The quality is extraordinary, and it would appear that it could be a decent watch. At that point, you are met with the essence of a beautiful man. Moment reward. You’re simply sitting tight for him to open his mouth and to hear a voice that must choose the option to be wonderful essentially in view of the delightful face that claims it. Also, you are (presumably) not frustrated. Until, that is, the primary line enrolls in your mind. Pooch goes woof. Now, you might be thinking, â€Å"I’m sorry, what?† Be that as it may, you are not mixed up. We will compose a custom paper test on The Fox by Ylvis or on the other hand any comparable subject explicitly for you Don't WasteYour Time Recruit WRITER Just 13.90/page The entire first stanza is educating the crowd regarding what clamors various creatures make, from felines to dairy animals to fish and frogs. Likewise, they instruct us that elephants state â€Å"toot† (the more you know). I started to think about whether this was something else like the Wiggles, or the Imagination movers. For those of you who don’t have little kids going around your home constantly, those are music bunches focused on early-age children to teach them for entertainment only ways on ethics and garbage like that. In any case, for what reason would it be viral at that point? Also, for what reason did the music video look so genuine? What on the planet was going on? And afterward the tune hit. You will scarcely believe, I have at no point ever been so befuddled, entertained, satisfied, and terrified simultaneously. I really solidified and afterward crumbled in giggling right away. That is the point at which I understood that I am not managing a child well disposed artist, I am managing the Norwegian comparable to The Lonely Island. To make this incredibly charming video far and away superior, Ylvis isn't just only one alluring male, however TWO appealing siblings, Bard Ylvisaker and Vegard Ylvisaker. What's more, the two of them have genuine, great ability that makes the music really pleasant to tune in to and not something observed only on the grounds that it’s a decent snicker. They additionally have their own syndicated program, I kveld prescription Ylvis (In English, that’s Tonight with Ylvis). Musically, â€Å"The Fox† stays aware of today’s Top 40 music in quality, and albeit melodiously it doesn’t hold a flame, the chorale is sufficiently comical to pull it off. Truly, what makes it the jewel it is, is the tune. There are no words to depict it. The Fox isn’t the brothers’ just tune however. Another tune I saw as very engaging is Stonehenge, in which the siblings pose another inquiry, this time what’s the arrangement with Stonehenge? Ylvis. Everlastingly voicing the inquiries we as a whole pose.

Beyond telling the story of her own writing inspiration and processes, she also discusses the challenges and multiple drafts that often go into getting published. A great example of her style and approach is the following quote taken from Bird by Bird:Writing and reading decrease our sense of isolation. They deepen and widen and expand our sense of life: they feed the soul. When writers make us shake our heads with the exactness of their prose and their truths, and even make us laugh about ourselves or life, our buoyancy is restored. We are given a shot at dancing with, or at least clapping along with, the absurdity of life, instead of being squashed by it over and over again. Its like singing on a boat during a terrible storm at sea. You cant stop the raging storm, but singing can change the hearts and spirits of the people who are together on that ship.Anne LamotWriting Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within?Paperback? by?Natalie GoldbergNatalie Goldberg is an American author and speaker who is best known for her books that explore the process of writing as Zen practice. Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within is part of that exploration. Her approach is sometimes comical, sometimes practical, and always insightful as she offers encouragement and advice to writers looking to perfect thei r craft. Heres a great example:We are important and our lives are important, magnificent really, and their details are worthy to be recorded. This is how writers must think, this is how we must sit down with pen in hand. We were here; we are human beings; this is how we lived. Let it be known, the earth passed before us. Our details are important. Otherwise, if they are not, we can drop a bomb and it doesnt matter… Recording the details of our lives is a stance against bombs with their mass ability to kill, against too much speed and efficiency. A writer must say yes to life, to all of life: the water glasses, the Kemps half-and-half, the ketchup on the counter.Natalie GoldbergWriters Market 2018: The Most Trusted Guide to Getting Published?(97th Edition)The Writers Market is an indispensable resource for writers looking for publishing opportunitiesâ€"from book publishing to writing contests to everything in between. Music censorship in Iran - Free Essay Example

The short documentary Not an illusion shed light on a very controversial topic in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is music censorship. Examples on regulations restricting musicians in Iran were introduced through an underground band called Piccolo whose members are very talented but unfortunate to be born in a country that doesnt appreciate their art and disappoints and discourages them through the tough and complicated policies it emplaces. In this short essay, first, I will be reflecting on the documentary mentioned above, and I will be discussing different types of regulations that suppress the publishing and performance of specific types of music. I will also focus on the severity of these regulations when the gender of the musician is taken into account. Finally, I will discuss whether artistic freedom is in a better state today with President Hassan Rouhani in office. Censorship in Iran encompasses a wide range of object matter whether artistic or non-artistic, political, cultural or religious. Most of these censorships are seen as measures taken to maintain the stability and security of the country and to ensure that what is presented to the general public conforms to Islamic values and Iranian traditions. Regulations that govern and control music production, publications and performances are mainly put forward by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, which approves or prohibits anything that might, in anyway, disrespect Islamic ethics or upset Iranrs political climate. In the documentary Not an Illusion we are introduced to some of these regulations that hindered the band from sharing their art with the public; such as being confined to present only a certain type of music- anything that is not pop, rap or heavy metal and doesnt insult the sacred or criticize the regime. So an electric guitarist or a drummer whose hobby is to play such m usic genres might never get the chance to do so in Iran. Members of any band must also refrain themselves from performing certain moves on stage which are considered against Islamic and social morals. Indeed, these regulations are not as clear, and hence expose any musician to major uncertainty about whether their musical piece would be vetted acceptable by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance or not. Not to mention that they might not receive a response from the ministry until two days before their designated date for the actual performance. If their musical piece isnt approved then they would lose lots of money if they have already booked a venue for their performance. This uncertainty fosters a sense of frustration among all musicians who in many cases end up finding some other job or hobby that they can practice in peace. The documentary also presents to us Sara, a talented singer, who is determined to practice this hobby despite all the extra restrictions she faces for being a female singer. Despite her beautiful voice, we learn that Sara, and all other Iranian women, are not allowed to sing solo for a mixed audience, or even record tapes of their voices. They are only allowed to sing vocals, only and only if joined by at least two other female singers. This regulation comes from the Islamic belief that a womanrs voice would create a sexual excitation among men. This regulation is the one that disturbs most female musicians the most; they believe that if their voice should be muted, God wouldnt have given them the talent in the first place. I personally felt the disappointment and anger in Sarars voice whenever the narrator opened this topic with her. She felt as if she was of a lesser value, that she couldnt be the master of her own destiny and that she had to always present herself as inferior to h er fellow male musicians. Musicians in Iran have their freedom of expression restricted like no other place on earth; however, they never lose hope that one day the music scene would change so that Iranians can express themselves and their thoughts in any form of art. Their hope of a better tomorrow was enhanced with the election of President Hassan Rouhani who promised the public to reduce cultural restrictions and to promote more arts in Iran. He also appointed a new Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Ali Jannati, who promised to bring underground music into the open and to give underground musicians and bands the right conditions to present their art to the public. Ever since Rouhani took over the office, we have seen some improvements such as the performance of the pop star Xaniar Khosravi on stage after he had been rejected several times. We have also witnessed the band Pallet playing to the national audience across the country. However, at the same time, the traditional singer Mohammad Reza Shaja rian was still prohibited from performing, even though Rouhani has personally promised to bring him back. Itrs also believed that since Ali Jannati became the minister, more and more concerts have been cancelled across different Iranian cities. This shows that music and cultural censorship are still on-going until this day, not only targeting western music but also traditional one. I, however, believe that this will not be the case in the future. We have been seeing an increasing number of individuals who want to practice and learn music in Iran, and I am positive that the new generation will make a difference in Iran in the upcoming years.

Biography of Tom Hayden, Activist and Politician

Tom Hayden (December 11, 1939–October 23, 2016) was an American anti-war activist and the co-founder of Students for a Democratic Society. In later life, he was elected to public office in California. Fast Facts: Tom Hayden Known For: Co-founder of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and a political activist focused on anti-war efforts, civil rights, and progressivism in American politicsOccupation: Activist, author, professor, and politicianBorn: December 11, 1939  in Royal Oak, MichiganDied: October 23, 2016  in Santa Monica, CaliforniaSpouse(s): Casey Cason  (m. 1961–1962), Jane Fonda  (m. 1973–1990), Barbara Williams  (m. 1993–2016)Children: Troy Garity, Liam Jack Diallo Hayden Early Life Hayden was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, to Genevieve and John Hayden. His father, a former Marine of Irish Catholic descent, was an accountant for Chrysler. The Haydens divorced when Thomas was ten, in large part due to John’s violent alcoholic tendencies. Hayden was raised by his mother and grew up attending Catholic elementary school, but he broke with the Church when he grew older. Hayden began his career as the editor of his high school’s newspaper. He then went on to attend the University of Michigan, where he served as the editor of the student newspaper, the Michigan Daily. It was at this time that he became more politically active, eventually co-founding the leftist student group Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). He met his first wife, Sandra Cason, through their shared activism, and the couple married in 1961. Radical Activism Hayden began his larger-scale activism as a Freedom Rider in the South, riding into the segregated South to protest the non-compliance with a Supreme Court ruling that had made segregated buses unconstitutional. As president of the SDS, Hayden drafted their manifesto, the Port Huron Statement, which became an early inspiration for the â€Å"New Left† and young, radical leftist movement in the United States. After divorcing Cason in 1962, Hayden moved to Newark, New Jersey, where he worked from 1964 to 1968 with inner-city residents and witnessed the 1967 â€Å"race riots,† which he attributed to more than just racial conflict. It was in 1965, however, that Hayden began his more visible and controversial activism. Alongside Communist Party USA member Herbert Aptheker and Quaker peace activist Staughton Lynd, Hayden visited North Vietnam, touring villages and factories. He continued his anti-war activities into 1968, when he joined the National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam and protested outside the Democratic National Convention. Those protests led to his indictment, along with several of his fellow protestors, on charges of incitement to riot and conspiracy. Their case became known as the â€Å"Chicago Seven† (named after the city where the convention and protests occurred), and although Hayden and other protestors were initially convicted of crossing state lines with the intention to riot, the decision was later reversed, and the government did not retry the case. Following the trial, Hayden continued to make highly visible visits to Vietnam and Cambodia, the latter of which had been drawn into the war under the Nixon administration. Hayden had become involved romantically with actress Jane Fonda, who was also an anti-war protestor and famously took a trip to Hanoi, the North Vietnamese capital, in 1972. The couple married in 1973 and welcomed their son, Troy Garity (given Hayden’s mother’s maiden name for his surname). He also founded the Indochina Peace Campaign, which organized anti-war dissent and fought for amnesty for those who dodged being drafted. Entry into Politics In 1976, Hayden made his first political move when he challenged incumbent Senator John V. Tunney for a California Senate seat. Although he was initially viewed as a fringe candidate, he wound up finishing a strong second in the Democratic primary. In the 1980s, he served in the California state assembly and, in the 1990s, in the state senate. Hayden served on the advisory board of the Progressive Democrats of America, a political organization and grassroots political action committee created to advocate for more progressive policy within the Democratic Party. He also became a strong advocate for animal rights and authored a bill that improved protections for pets and shelter animals. Throughout his career, Hayden taught at the university level at several California universities. For the most part, his courses specialized in social movements, political science, and history of protests. He also authored or edited nearly 20 books. Later Life In 1990, Hayden and Fonda divorced; three years later, he married his third wife, Barbara Williams, a Canadian-American actress. The couple adopted a son, Liam, who was born in 2000. The 2016 election would be the last campaign season he participated in: although he reportedly supported Bernie Sanders early on, he publicly supported Hillary Clinton. However, Hayden did not live to see the results of the election. After a lengthy illness and a stroke, Hayden died on October 23, 2016, in Santa Monica, California. He left behind a large volume of published work, as well as a legacy of pushing for progress, even (and especially) when it went against the â€Å"establishment† thinking. Assessment Of Spoken And Language - 885 Words

The CASL or Comprehensive Assessment of spoken and language was administered by two student clinicians. The Test consists of 15 sub tests in the domains of comprehension, expression, and retrieval in the 4 categories of semantics, syntax, supra-linguistics, and pragmatics.. These sub tests are then divided into core or supplementary categories. Core tests are meant to determine basic language components where as supplementary test are meant to convey further information for a diagnosis. Depending on the client’s age, the test can take between thirty minutes to an hour and a half to administer, but overall is not a difficult test and yields useful results. A variety of different factors where taken into account when norming the CASL. The age group used was between 3.0 to 21.11 years, and taken from most areas of the country including the Northeast, northwest, central, and west. Fifty percent of these participants were male and fifty percent were female. Almost 70% of this ref erence population identified as white while about 20% of the reference population was either Hispanic or African American. Based on these norms this test may be better for some populations rather then others. For example, if a clinician has a Hispanic boy from Texas, she may want to use a different test, or at least keep these norms in mind when scoring. So, it is safe to conclude that money can buy someone happiness? According to professor of psychology David G. Myers, it can’t. In his article â€Å"The Funds, Friends, and Faith of Happy People†, published in†¦show more content†¦This means that for the future generations, they are willing to pass out on the chance building a fulfilling life, they are willing to dismiss on the chances of becoming an expert on their own field, th ey are willing to deny the idea of family, which was thought to be the happy ending for most people of past generations, just so that they can earn a little bit more, just so that they can feel safe with their financial status. And let say that they continue with this thought process into their adult life, what do they exactly get? According to one Gallup Poll that Mr. Myers provided, even when they are well off financially, they still want more, â€Å"One in two women, two in three men, and four in five people earning more than $75,000 reported they would like to be rich†. Meaning that for the future generations, when they reached the safety point of the bank account, they still want more, not happiness with themselves, not a family to be rely on, not being experts in their field of professions, the thing that they crave for more is only money. Ethical Paper on Abortion - 1803 Words

Abortion What is abortion? An abortion is a medical or surgical procedure used to terminate a pregnancy. A medical abortion is an abortion that is brought about by taking medications that will end a pregnancy. (1) A Surgical abortion is an abortion which ends a pregnancy by emptying the uterus (or womb) with special instruments. (1) Some of the reasons for a woman to get an abortion may be that they cant afford a/another child, health reason of the childs or her own safety, social reasons such as unwanted child or not ready for having a child, and rape or incest. Abortions performed in the seven to nine weeks of the first trimester are medical abortions. (2) All abortions after nine weeks are surgical abortions. There is very little actual and proven factual evidence, but of what little there is, I can see no ne that is unbiased. For example If we consider what it is rather than what it might become, we must acknowledge that the embryo under three months is something far more primitive than a frog or a fish. To compare it to an infant is ludicrous. (4) This is accurate, yet very biased and I feel that it is not very necessary, but does help with his point of view. One influence that I believe affects the way he thinks about this topic may be because he is an objectivist, which is a type of philosophy. For instance Rights, in Ayn Rands words, do not pertain to a potential, only to an actual being. A child cannot acquire any rights until it is born. (4) Ayn Rand is the creator of Objectivism and was his mentor; it is because of this that I believe that he is Pro-choice. Since the embryo or fetus is technically not a human being, but an embryo or fetus, and the Metaphysics of Objectivism states that Existence Exists, A is A, a human is a human, an embryo is an embryo...ect... and a embry o is not a human. Therapeutic Hypothermia for Cardiac Arrest Patients Free Essays

Therapeutic Hypothermia for Cardiac Arrest Jaime Bromley Jefferson College of Health Sciences Hypothermia is a decrease in the core temperature below 35 degrees Celsius or 95 degrees Fahrenheit. There are various medical uses for hypothermia. Therapeutic hypothermia is the only proven effective treatment for post cardiac arrest patients. We will write a custom essay sample on Therapeutic Hypothermia for Cardiac Arrest Patients or any similar topic only for you Order Now Hypothermia decreases the amount of cerebral oxygen needed and also lessens the inflammatory response post cardiac arrest. This prevents brain damage and death in patients. There were two major studies done on this topic. One in Europe and one in Australia; they showed very positive outcomes for the patients who were treated with therapeutic hypothermia. More of the patients who received the hypothermic treatment survived compared to those who did not; also patients treated with hypothermia had less brain damage upon hospital discharge. Sudden cardiac arrest is a major health concern in the United States; there are more than 400,000 incidents annually (AHA, 2011). Only five to thirty percent of patients survive hospitalization and make it to hospital discharge (AHA, 2011). Doctors are now discovering the highly effective treatment of doctor induced hypothermia for cardiac arrest patients. Hypothermia is defined as a decrease in the core body temperature below 35 degrees Celsius or 95 degrees Fahrenheit (Ward, 2011). It is then characterized by whether it occurred accidentally or if it was induced purposefully. There are multiple uses for medically induced hypothermia. Doctor induced hypothermia is the most effective therapeutic treatment for out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest patients suffer from ischemic brain injury leading to poor neurologic outcomes and death. Doctors will begin to cool patients as soon as recirculation begins. Therapeutic hypothermia works by decreasing the cerebral oxygen consumption. During cardiac arrest circulation does not occur, therefor the vital organs are not adequately perfused. When resuscitation happens circulation resumes and reperfusion occurs. Reperfusion is associates with free radical formation (AHA, 2011). Mild hypothermia blocks intracellular effects from high calcium concentrations and lessens the inflammatory response after cardiac arrest (Ward, 2011). In 2002 the results of two randomized trials were published that compared mild hypothermia with normothermia in comatose survivors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. One study was done in five European countries; the other was conducted in four hospitals in Australia (University of Chicago, 2008). In the European study the patients were cooled to the target range of 32 to 34 degrees Celsius (University of Chicago, 2008). They were kept at that temperature for 24 hours, and then passive warming would begin (University of Chicago, 2008). Six months after cardiac arrest 75 of the 137 hypothermic patients had positive results; and were able to live independently and able to work (University of Chicago, 2008). Whereas with the normothermia patients only 54 of the 137 patients survived six months after their cardiac arrest (University of Chicago, 2008). With the Australian study the patients were cooled to 33 degrees Celsius, kept at that temperature for 18 then active rewarming would begin (University of Chicago, 2008). The results of the Australian study, 21 of the 43 patients treated with hypothermia had good neurological function at discharge compared to nine of 34 patients who were normothermic post cardiac arrest (University of Chicago, 2008). There are various techniques used to cool patients; currently there is not one technique that stands out over the rest in ease of use and high efficiency. Before the cooling procedure can begin the patient is given a sedative and a neuromuscular blocker to prevent shivering. There are multiple external techniques such as cooling blankets, ice packs, wet towels, and a cooling helmet; however all of these are slow to cool core temperature (University of Chicago, 2008). An intravascular heat exchange device has recently become available; this machine enables rapid cooling and precise temperature control (University of Chicago, 2008). During the whole cooling and rewarming process the patient is closely monitored and their temperature is taken regularly. Not every person who has sudden cardiac arrest is able to receive hypothermic therapy. There are multiple restrictions, and each hospital has its own protocol to follow. Some of the common exclusions are pregnancy, core temperature of less than 30 degrees Celsius post arrest, and known clotting disorders (AHA, 2011). In order to receive hypothermic treatment the patient must be at least 18 years of age, female patients must have a documented negative pregnancy test, cardiac arrest with return of spontaneous circulation, and the blood pressure can be maintained at 90mmHg (AHA, 2011). With the use of therapeutic hypothermia treatment many people have been given a second chance at life. Doctors and scientists are making great strides in refining the technique needed to successfully treat patients with hypothermic therapy. Ward, J. 2011). Question: Discuss About The Headspace Is The Organization Which Works? Answer: Introduction Headspace is the organisation which works for the ill heath, where depression is considered as a major alarming story for the patients. With the change in the technology, it has been possible for the different sectors to work on the economy growth which has also made the life easier. With this, there are different health sectors that have been reaped heavily with the proper technology development. IT specialists work on the healthcare factors where the focus is on working tirelessly to make sure that the incorporate information technology is set in the health sector. The health services are important for the health community. (Kennedy et al., 2014). Hence, for this, the electronic and the communication processes are also important. Headspace is based on working with the major advancement in the incorporation of the clinical education, research and the administrative purposes that are mainly without any geographical limitations. This will help in improving the delivery of health servi ces in and around the country. The major question is about how the new product work towards the development management for the health industry with the better health care provision. Problem Statement Headspace has been focusing on how the human beings are not able to remain immune to the sickness or any other health related problems. (Paxton et al., 2015). They are generally seen to be sick where they are visiting the doctor once in a while. The doctor also must take down information related to the storage of the information, with the check on how there is a possible to ask the patient for the medical history the storing of the information and then accessing them could help in analysing whether the person is in depression or not. Through this, there is a possibility to store all the other information as well to scrutinize about the persons image. The manual storage is based on the crucial information which is about how the patients are interfered with the smooth sharing and Woking. The system needs to work on storing the information and making sure that there is a smooth processing as well. For this, the system needs to be working depending upon the development of health record s ystem. The program aims to improve and identify the problems with the closure of the gaps in the health sector. Capabilities This includes the project information to be stored as per the requirement. Through the application, there is a possibility that the patient visit could be scheduled through mobile phones as and when the doctor is free. The information of the health could also be stored online, thereby allowing to cover the medical history of the patient. The online system is mainly to allow the patient for choosing the system requirements with the freewill to restrict any information that is in the system. (Legido et al., 2013). The system also allows the patient to control the view depending upon the information profile and handle the restrictions of the number. This will ensure confidentiality stored in the system and the sharing will help in improving the manual system of the hospital. Benefits Through this, there is a possibility of increased efficiency with the proper functioning of the online system of health records that are more than the manual system. The main objective is to cover the project development to make sure that there is a possibility to work on the efficiency of the system and make sure that this will help in the easy delivery of the health services. The efficiency of the system will help in saving the time and the informations needs. The doctor of the healthcare giver also need to focus on the accessing of the online system with searching the patient and then accessing the profile as well. (Jee et al., 2013). Conclusion In my conclusion, the health records of the program are important for the storage of information with easy breakthrough to the health care industry. The programs are related to the Australian community needs which include improvement of the delivery of the healthcare services. The projected implementation is found through the delivery of quality and the health services are set at a reduced cost, with enhanced confidentiality of the information of patient. Reflective Accounts

Question: Write the reflective account followingthe Gibbs model of reflection. Answer: Reflective accounts Here to write the Reflective accounts I am following the Gibbs model of reflection (Lawrence et al., 2013). This is the Gibbs model of reflection (1988). The report is written by following the model. Description Dr. A is practicing from last year. He lives with his family. He is a complete family man and he lives with his family. He has faced a patient few months ago, Mr. B. He was 65 years old. He has faced Dementia a few months ago (Incorrect Description, 2013). When he came to my chamber he was complaining that he is forgetting things frequently and this thing is giving him a severe headache. He is facing this from last few weeks. He is weak person by heart. So, it is well enough to frighten him. He entered in chamber with a threatened face and with a mild ache in his head. The family doesnt have that kind of diseases. He is first person in his family who is having such problems. He was forced to come to my chamber. His son said that Mr. B is forgetting few things and he was now not that able to think and make perfect plans. Mr. B was ignoring this signs but his is son is aware about the disease and he forced him to visit the doctors chamber. I discussed the social situation with him and I came to know that he was a retired person. He has a married son. But he was working in an organisation to help the needy people. For this purpose he had to make some effective plans. He was not able to make those plans though he was an expert in making those plans. Last thing which I came to know is that he had lost his wife a few months before. While examining Mr. B I pointed out the problems. Being a doctor I knew that the dementia is increasing day by day. The higher population of the older people made that count larger. This disease doesnt show its negative aspects in earlier stages but it gives its worst result at last. So, my main motive was to identify the primary symptoms. I found that Mr. B is having some mental problems. They are- Mr. B is losing his memory (Announcement, 2015). He is having some difficulties in communicating with people. He was losing his mental ability to pay serious attention to any project. He was very good in such works but he was not able to do those works. He was in a post where he had to make decisions, give judgements. He was not that expert in our first meeting (Value judgements, 2011). He was losing his visual power which is natural after a certain period, but here in this case i thought that it is a symptom of dementia. Feelings The symptoms I got from his daily life. This is not that disease which gives the patients too much headache or stomach ache or any kind of pain. This disease increases in the brain slowly and makes its worst result with the time. Mr. B often forgot to take his wallet. He was facing some difficulty while talking to me. I asked few questions to him for which he had to think properly. He didnt make that. Last thing what I did, I took an examination of his eyes. I noticed that he is facing some disability in that part also (Barile, 2014). Looking in the symptoms and at the present condition in Australia I thought that it is case of dementia. I felt that I have made a proper diagnosis and the next thing hic hi had to do the proper treatment of the patient, Mr. B. This was the first case of dementia to me. So, it was a challenge to me that I had to the best possible treatment which a doctor can give to his patients. Evaluation While giving treatment to Mr. B I faced both type of experience. Sometimes I felt like I was in heaven and sometimes I thought this is the worst thing which I am facing right now (Evaluation Sources, 2015). Good experience I prescribed some medicine and some therapy to Mr. B. Sometimes they worked properly. The sign of this thing is he entered my chamber with a smile. After that what he he picked out his wallet and used to say me that he didnt forget to take his wallet that day and any prescribed medicines were working properly. That smile was the real fees to me. Some recovery was done according to me (Jing, 2015). The good thing to any kind of professional that they are doing the appropriate thing what they have leant from the past. They are here to apply those studies in real life. The best experience in that case was I detected the disease at the very earlier stage. This helps me in the treatment very much. Apart from that Mr. B was getting busy in his daily life. There was a time where he lost himself but he is coming back into his normal life. Though it is a disease which cannot be cure properly, it can be reduced only. I think I did my best to reduce the effect of this disease. Bad experience The bad thing in this case what I experienced the violence of the patient. This decease make the patient to forget the bad memories and the patients only remembers the good things in their life. Often Mr. B forgets that his wife was no more. He thought that my treatment makes him to stay away from his wife. Some times when the decease shows its presence Mr. B wants to meet his wife and when he didnt find his wife he used to say bad words to me. It was not his fault. The decease forced him to do such things. But still when you are helping someone and he is saying bad words to you it hurts (Vestal, 2012). Analysis In this part of the analysis of the whole part is done. What I have experienced what steps I have taken to make the diagnosis. I have experienced both good and bad experience. Mr. B was getting busy in his daily life. There was a time where he lost himself but he is coming back into his normal life. Though it is a disease which cannot be cure properly, it can be reduced only. I think I did my best to reduce the effect of this disease (Analysis Title Page, 2014). In this step I have done some tests to know the actual condition of my patient. There are some tests which are very much essential to do. These tests took only 5-15 minutes to complete. These help me to monitor my patient and to prescribe him he needs. I have done three tests mainly. These are Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), Abbreviated Mental Test Core (AMTS) (Lam, Wong and Woo, 2010) and the Modified Mini Mental State Examination (3MS) (Karch, 2015). These were the prime tests which I have done. I have done other tests like Cognitive Abilities Screening instrument (CASI), the Trail-making Test and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) test. These tests helped me to reach at a better conclusion. Among the tests the MOCA is the test which used to make some screening test. It is a liable test too. The MMSE test is a common test which is done every where dementia found. These tests are to check the sensitivity of the patients and to identify the exact problematic area. All the tests were done successfully (Rosa da Silva, 2010). Apart from this I had know the daily habits of Mr. B. Because of that I made a questioner which I gave to Mr. B to fill that up. The Questioner helped me a lot to know about the daily life of my patient. This process is called Informant Questioner on Cognitive Decline in the Elderly. This is tool of this treatment and this is a successful tool. A survey said that in 90% case the tool has made an effective result (Clements and Stoye, 2014). There are some laboratory tests also like routine blood tests (Lab on a Chip 200th Issue, 2014). This test is done to know about the vitamin level in the blood. The decease occurs because the brain doesnt get its food and become ill. So, it is necessary to know about the vitamin levels in the blood (Shankar, 2013). This ensures that the brain is getting its food and no further damage is done. The blood test includes vitamin B12, folic acid test, full blood count, TSH, calcium, renal function and the lever enzymes. These entire tests are done. Another reason of the blood test is to monitor that the prescribed medicines are harmful to the body or not. Is the medicines are harmful. Monitoring the small steps assures that the worst result will not come soon (Mastilovic, 2010). I have done the CT scan and the MRI scan to the Pressure hydrocephalus. Is the pressure is normal. . The change doesnt show the neurological problems it is done to know the above mentioned pressure is normal or not. This pressure is a main reason of the decease. So, it was obvious to check the pressure, if it is normal or not. The test shows that which type of dementia the patient have (Rahme and Bojanowski, 2010). There are so many tests like the SPECT and the PET test. These are also the clinical tests but I felt that these are not necessary. From the above tests I have got all of my information. These are done to examine the carbon-11 (Kenny and Kelly, 2003). I prescribed some medicine to maintain the normal vitamin level in the body. By analysing his questioner I prescribed him to make some change in the daily life. I told him to medicate. Not only that I guided him in some healthy computerised training. I thought this process will help my patient in improving his memory. I put my best effort to make my patient out of this decease (Baarda, 2012). Palliative care For this kind of treatment palliative care is most important. These help the patient to improve mental condition. This dementia leads the patients to a mental and physical loss. So, care is very important in this case. They have to treat with great care. They need mental support in this stage. By way of counselling I did my best and I thought that the result will be positive and it was a positive outcome. From the questioner from I came to know about the goals of my patient. This helps me to make the counselling more effective (McKenna and Clark, 2015). Psychological therapies The therapy includes the music therapy, reminiscence therapy etc. These type of therapy helps to give a better atmosphere to the patient. I prescribed it also. This improves the mental condition of the mental condition to the victims. So, I referred this also. The abnormal activity of the persons in reduced in this process. The music therapy also helps to maintain the pressure of the patients. It helps the patients to control their anger. My patient often remembered his dead wife and this not possible to produce her in front of him. At that time my patient acted like a wild animal. He was on fire at that time. Even my counselling was ineffective at that particular time. So, I prescribed music therapy to my patient. It helps me a lot in this case. By listening the music the rude behaviour was reduced a lot. Thus I got help from that therapy (Maguire, 2012). Conclusion In the above part I have made described what I have done earlier. In this part of Gibbs model of reflection (1988) I will discuss what steps were there which I could take. As I said before there are so many tests like the SPECT and the PET test (Krause, 2008). These are also the clinical tests but I felt that these are not necessary. From the above tests I have got all of my information. These are done to examine the carbon-11. I didnt think that the test is required. Eating difficulties My patient often makes trouble while eating. This was vey injurious to his physical and mental health. Lack of vitamins in the body allows the decease to make his appearance in a better way. It was possible to feed him with feeding tube. But I didnt do that. I thought it can injure him. The tube could increase the vitamins and it could improve the health also. But I didnt (Richardson et al., 2015). Pain This is a common thing that the old aged people face a severe pain in their body. Like all other older people my patient was also suffering from this. Like all other he was also avoiding this and at time of treatment he didnt tell me that. That can happen that he is suffering from the decease dementia, and this decease kill the felling of pain. So, he didnt have that idea that he is suffering from pain. So, I prescribed him some therapy to take on. I didnt think that he took those therapies. I think that I could have done much better in this particular case (Bowsher, 2005). Action Plan In this part of the Gibbs model of reflection (1988) it is said that the future measurement plans in case of the decease come again (Allergy action plan, 2013). If the decease come again I shall take the authentically steps of treatment. I will not take any kind of steps which is injurious to the patient or which is not acceptable according to me. I shall take the following steps. Step 1 I will make proper diagnosis to know the actual reasons behind this. I shall look for those particular points of dementia. The symptoms are Mr. B is losing his memory or not (DOE's Losing Gamble, 2002). Is he having some difficulties in communicating with people? Is he losing his mental ability to pay serious attention to any project? Is he giving a fare judgement or is he doing his works with full attention? Is he was losing his visual power than before? Is his body is feeling the pain like a normal old man? Step 2 After that I shall make the tests and analyse the previous reports and compare the new test reports with the older one. The tests I shall prefer these steps to know the actual condition of my patient. There are some tests which are very much essential to do. These tests take only 5-15 minutes to complete. These will help me to monitor my patient and to prescribe him what he needs. I shall make three critical steps. These are Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), Abbreviated Mental Test Core (AMTS) and the Modified Mini Mental State Examination (3MS). These are the prime tests which I have to do. I have to done other tests like Cognitive Abilities Screening instrument (CASI), the Trail-making Test and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) test. These tests will surely help me to reach at a better conclusion. Among the tests the MOCA is the test which used to make some screening test. It is a liable test too. The MMSE test is a common test which is done every where dementia found. T hese tests are to check the sensitivity of the patients and to identify the exact problematic area. All the tests will have to done (Gao, 2012). If I feel I will make a questioner. I shall make a questioner which will give to Mr. B to fill that up. The Questioner will help me a lot to know about the daily life of my patient. This process is called Informant Questioner on Cognitive Decline in the Elderly. This is tool of this treatment and this is a successful tool. There are some laboratory tests also like routine blood tests. This test is done to know about the vitamin level in the blood. The decease occurs because the brain doesnt get its food and become ill. So, it is necessary to know about the vitamin levels in the blood. This ensures that the brain is getting its food and no further damage is done. I have to know about the health condition of Mr. B. So, I have to prescribe the blood test. The blood test includes vitamin B12, folic acid test, full blood count, TSH, calcium, renal function and the lever enzymes. These entire tests are done. Another reason of the blood test is to monitor that the prescribed medicines are harmful to the body or not. Are they helpful? Monitoring the small steps I hope I will protect my patient from severe injury (Pacholok and Stuart, 2005). Step 3 In this step I will take help from my previous experience. I faced a mixed type of experience. I have face the good experience and as well as the bad one also. I will take help from the past test report. I will analyse the past reports again and compare the new report with the new one. I will go through the precious prescribed medicine and the result also. If I feel that I have to change those medicines I will do that. If I feel that the past record of that medicines were good I not going to change them. References Allergy action plan. (2013). Kate Chopins The Story Of An Hour And Gail Godwins A Sorrowful Woman E

Kate Chopin's The Story of an Hour and Gail Godwin's A Sorrowful Woman are both similar pieces of literary work in that both stories offers a revealing glimpse of extremely unhappy marriages. Both Mrs. Mallard and the unnamed mistress in A Sorrowful Woman called (the wife) seem to reveal a problem or possibly a disease which is plainly inherited through the institution of there marriages. They are so unhappy with the lives they lead and the person(s) in them they seem to drive themselves to there own death. The Story of an Hour seems to pick up in the middle of an on going battle of Mrs. Mallard's feelings towards that of her husband Brantly Mallard, (which seems to be a decent guy from this short story introduction). This is why you really can not come to grasps with her hatred towards Mr. Mallard and why she feels it. There is little introduction of the husband Brantly Mallard which leaves any thought or opinions of him completely to the imagination, while in A Sorrowful Woman the wife seems to be a very selfish, and self centered person who can care only for herself. Godwin describes mostly all characteristics about the husband and wife in that the wife tells her husband that the sight of himself and the child made her so sick she did not want to see them ever again. The husband being his very understanding self-comments "he understood such things, and asked what would she like him to do" (33). In the begging Mrs. Mallard is so overwhelmingly happy (acting very distraught) to receive the telegram informing her of Mr. Mallard's death but she had to conceal her happiness simply because there were loved ones in her presence including her sister Josephine and Mr. Mallard's great friend Richard. It was he (Richard) who had received intelligence of the death as he was in the newspaper room and heard fist word of the rail road disaster with Brently Mallard's name at the top of the death list. Josephine had delivered this information just before Mrs. Mallard had stormed off to her room for the concealment and solitude that she had needed (12-13). For the wife in A Sorrowful Woman loneliness and solitude was all that she had wanted out of her family member role throughout the story. She was placed to bed the first night and was given a sleeping draught that was guaranteed to put her to rest swiftly after informing her husband that she wanted to be away and out of the sight of him and their little boy. For many days straight the wife remained there alone and to her self only to appear to wonder throughout the house aimlessly a few short times when the house was vacant. For Mrs. Mallard remaining in her room resting in her roomy armchair staring aimlessly out of the open window was to rejoice and unleash her true feelings of Mr. Mallard's death after a few short moments of morning (12). While in A Sorrowful Woman the wife was detained by her own state of misery and loneliness for she wanted to be away from both her husband and her child also (the majority of the time) sitting in her big chair staring out at the snow-ridden branches wearing her slacks and an old sweater (35). While there is no major role playing by Mr. Mallard in The Story of an Hour the husband in A Sorrowful Woman tries to be very caring in every way possible to his wife. The day after everything took place he brought her breakfast in bed and let her lay to rest until it grew dark again, and after taking there son for a walk he brought her up a tray of buttered toast, celery sticks and soup. She says to him "I am the luckiest woman," (crying) he then replies "nonsense, you need a rest from us," referring to there son and himself (34). He would then continue to take over all of the house hold duties such as: fixing her meals/sleeping liquids, doing dishes, making dinner for the himself and there son, taking and picking up there son from school, and holding down his employment at the office as well.

Figurative Language versus Literal Language Essay - 14

Figurative Language versus Literal Language - Essay Example tz (2006), idioms are forms of figurative speech that use words or phrases to mean something else, especially the meanings that are indicated in the dictionary. In the event of a word to word translation of the entire phrase, it is obvious that the entire meaning of the idiom will be lost. For instance, the author may write, sit on the fence. This does not mean literally sitting on the fence, but in reality secluding oneself from a certain activity. Idioms aid in relaying the anticipated messages to the readers, by heightening their reasoning capability beyond the obvious denotation. Amphiboly is a form of language presentation whereby the author creates some form of grammatical mistakes through the organization of words in a sentence or idiom according to Morris (2000). More often than not, this creates some of uncertainty or construal of the wrong meaning as indicated by the authors. Where the author states that they are brewing beer is a good example. This may either mean that they are they are planning something destructive or brewing beer. In this case, the readers are aggravated to dig deeper in the real meaning that was to be depicted. Analogy on the other hand as a form of metaphorical speech refers to creation of a form of impression linking two things that are completely dissimilar in reality (Rieke & Silars, 1997). Analogy plays the function of creating a form of enlightment to the readers to find what the author attempts to conceal. The author may specify he is a dead computer. This means that the person is as good as dead, as they cannot function. â€Å"Flame words†Ã‚  in language are used by the authors to create a particular tone in the readers, especially a negative atmosphere. The author may need to insist on the readers that the work being portrayed has some a lot of negatives that the readers must put in mind while reading a text. For instance the author may use the title, A Death Trail to mean that the major theme in the work relates to a nasty

Foreigners Changing China, 1850-1980 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Foreigners Changing China, 1850-1980 - Essay Example This particular frame of mind can be considered as the main cause of their resistance in adopting other cultures and their values for millennia. They assumed that they are self sufficient in all forms of society and do not require foreign intrusion. But in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century China has undergone various changes in many parts of their core infrastructures that include politics, language, economics, culture and society. This is believed to be largely under the influence of the foreign countries such as USA and Britain. So what are the basic forms of modifications that have been implemented and what has caused these changes to take place that was resisted before for such a long time? Answer to this question is the main notion of this discussion. Among all the considerable changes that were brought up by the foreign influence, changes in the politics are most important and should be emphasized in detail. Ancient Chinese Society: To understand or clearly apprec iate any change we need to view the original form that was present before that modification was made. As we know from history that China was considered as a kingdom led by the emperors. These emperors and their dynasties were not chosen on their relationship to the people of China but their origin was more religious and mythical (Foster 2010). Any ruler or dynasty corrupted with the evil will be reflected upon by the nature’s anger in the form of earthquake floods or droughts indicating the change were imminent (Kornberg et al 2004). This was in contrast to the west where democracy was laying foundation of a strong government bodies. Despite China’s ruling being based on such religious foundations, it continued for a very long time. Starting from the Hans dynasty in 206 BC it remained intact until Qing dynasty collapsed in 1911 (Zinzius 2004). Arguably there needs to be a solid bond that united this nation on single platform. By looking at a bigger prospective it can b e concluded that the main reason for sustenance of such establishment can be traced back to the strong social values that hold the structure together for centuries. No other nation has ever been close to signify the theme of middle kingdom like Chinese did for centuries. They were proud of their existence in the middle while the rest of the humanity revolves around them and learn from them (Ford 2010). There is no doubt that the social system in these ancient dynasties was more localized on the families and tribe as a distinct entity rather than on a single individual. So there was a strong concept of nuclear family and relationships were given highest regards. From the economic point of view China was a self sufficient civilization. Most of the Chinese emperors were not open for trades with the western world because of the hierarchical system in China. The theme of middle kingdom were so deep rooted that they considered that no one else is worthy of given an equal status to them. A lthough in the nineteenth century there was a great demand of China’s silk, spices and other items among the western consumers. Similarly westerns also wanted to introduce some of their unique items and offered many trade agreements to the emperors during that time but all were put down. As we know that trade creates a great influence on any society but China was virtually immune to it. Therefore, no significant foreign influence was detected in the Chinese empire due to their isolation from the rest of the world. Foreign Penetration and changes in the Politics: The difference between China’

The Empowerment Of Civil Society By Using Technology Media Essay

The Empowerment Of Civil Society By Using Technology Media Essay The use of Information technology over the years has become a means of political and social change resulting in the empowerment of civil society and also effecting public opinion though sharing information via internet blogging, informative websites, etc. It has also been very successful in exposing violations of human rights, civil liberties, corruption, and misuse of power by various international organisations and governments. One such website which has created an international uproar between officials of states and civil society is Wikileaks. In my essay I shall discuss the impact of information technology on civil society following which I shall discuss the positive and negative activist and legal effects Wikileaks has on civil society and states. I shall also discuss the effect of Information technology and Wikileaks on democracy, fundamental human rights, secrecy and transparency. Over the years many people around the world have become increasingly aware of the expanding use of information technology, which has become a tool for social and political change globally. The use of internet all over the world has empowered civil society and many social activists to share information instantly with one another. Technologies such as internet websites, electronic mail, mobile phones, etc., have given more power to activists to communicate effectively with more people around the world than ever before. The internet increases access to publications, news stories, reports and gives opportunities to discover information that is normally suppressed (e.g. Wikileaks). The internet can be used as a medium or tool for whistle blowers and journalists to publish information concerning unethical behaviour of governments and corporations which can be difficult to trace and censor. Due to the advancement of information technology and as a result the age of the internet, there is ve ry little that is really secret these days.  [1]  However the drawbacks to such information technology is that it is also misused for wrongful purposes, such as terrorism, sex-trafficking, cyber hacking, as well as spreading information which can be false or dangerous and as a result harmful to others etc. The internet has showed that it is a useful space in which citizens can debate, discuss or negotiate on many social, political and economic issues. Such discussion has a profound effect on public opinion around the world and encourages society towards a true democratic system. It is also an effective tool for civil rights organisations to communicate to people and to groups in different parts of the world through email, websites and forums. Moreover, due to the advancement of information technology civil activists can keep in touch with supporters and campaigners effectively and effortlessly.  [2]   Wikileaks is a website which describes itself as an activist organisation or in other words the intelligence agency of the people.  [3]  Wikileaks is an international non-profit organisation that works for transparency and publishes submissions of private or secret, classified information from anonymous news sources, news leaks, and whistleblowers.  [4]  The website relies on Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states, Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.  [5]  The website works towards uncovering government, individual and corporate corruption though leaked sources and bringing it to the attention of civil society. In 2006 Wikileaks won many awards from organizations such as Amnesty International and the Economist for exposing issues around the world.  [6]   The advancement of information technology allows the internet and so as to say Wikileaks the ability to receive and publish leaked information cheaply and quickly. In addition the website has the ability to bypass the legal framework that would otherwise have to go though courts and officials to consider before being disclosed. Wikileaks has been successful in uncovering many illegal activities and corruption scandals starting from 2006 when it published information concerning assassination details of government officials by Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys, corruption by the family of the former Kenyan leader Daniel arap Moi, allegations of illegal activities at the Cayman Islands branch of the Swiss Bank Julius Baer and the revelation of involvement of politicians and businessmen in the 2008 Peru oil scandal.  [7]  Wikileaks has been successful in uncovering many human rights violations and civil liberties. Some of the most famous revelations that it uncovered were the documents regarding hidden war crimes or prisoner abuse. In March 2007 Wikileaks published a leaked manual of the US military for the Guantanamo prison camp. In July 2010, Wikileaks published the Afghan War diary, which was a compilation of more than 76,900 documents concerning the war in Afghanistan. The documents stated the number of innocen t deaths of civilians that had been covered up by the international forces. Also in October 2010 Wikileaks, along with some media organisations, released the Iraq War logs which included almost 400,000 documents. The documents revealed evidence of torture and more than 109,000 violent deaths between 2004 and 2009 including 66,081 civilians. This was considered one of the biggest leaks in US military history.  [8]  In November 2010 Wikileaks started to publish US state department diplomatic cables. Many of these cables were labelled confidential, secret or top secret by the US state department. This further antagonised governments, more so than the leak of previous documents. The US government therefore suggested that the revelation of such documents put at risk lives of several of its people and allies around the world.  [9]   A number of civil rights activists were divided over the actions taken by Wikileaks. Many activists supported Wikileaks and the importance of uncovering and exposing such documents which revealed and brought to the attention of the world violations of human rights, civil liberties, corruption, and misuse of power by various international organisations and governments. Activists believed that this would support and justify the idea of a fair, functional and democratic civil society. Many civil activists believed that such misuse of power to cover such violations needed to be addressed openly though legal means in order to protect citizens from arbitrary government authority.  [10]  In addition it can also be said that due to the popularity that Wikileaks has gained over the years, documents published on the website could also have an effect on potential political reform. Also documents published on the website could have either a positive or a negative effect on civil society incl uding political or economic decisions made by states, as well as international relations and policy decisions. In such cases one can argue that information technology has been successful in uniting people all over the world by sharing knowledge, debating political and economic issues, revealing human rights violations and civil liberties thereby bringing change to public opinion and encouraging a free transparent democratic society. On the other hand several activists did not agree to the actions taken by Wikileaks particularly in the case of the Afghan War Diary. They believed that the exposure of such documents led to the revelation of identities of many people who had collaborated with the coalition in Afghanistan, which endangered such people to further violence. Press freedom groups, many human rights groups including Amnesty International, accused Wikileaks of being irresponsible for the publication of the afghan war logs.  [11]  The criticism of Wikileaks gave rise to the public opinion that it was doing more harm than good. Many argued that this would most probably increase internet surveillance, more secrecy and further restrictions. In addition it encouraged people to believe that the publication of classified secret government information would make it more difficult to support and protect people and sources after such information is disclosed. Furthermore, the consequences of publishing such docu ments on Wikileaks would result in the loss of protection of the sources mentioned within the documents and sources from where the information was retrieved. The outcome of such revelations could therefore lead to an extreme kind of transparency which would result in the loss of jobs, reputation or lives, etc., for such sources, which questions the fact of how this would positively support democracy and civil society. Therefore one can also argue that information technology can be used to leak confidential information which can result in stricter laws, regulation and increased internet surveillance. Whilst Wikileaks brought to light many issues concerning corruption and violations of human rights and civil liberties through the publication of documents and diplomatic cables, this release of classified information angered governments throughout the world, especially the United States which was associated with many of the of leaks. As a result governments pressured many online companies to limit or block their association with Wikileaks. Amazon dropped Wikileaks from its servers, which temporarily caused Wikileaks to be inaccessible. Later, Swiss bank PostFinance froze the Director of Wikileaks website Julian Assanges assets, while PayPal, a money transfer website, disabled Wikileaks account which it used to collect donations. MasterCard and Visa also followed suit by refusing donations to Wikileaks.  [12]  Hence it can be argued that governments and corporations are also activists and use information technology to promote their own agenda for instance in the case of Wikileaks , clamping down on activities which they do not consent to or which are not beneficial to them economically or politically. When financial services were denied to Wikileaks, a group of anonymous activists under the name of Anonymous carried out decentralised attacks on many corporations websites such as MasterCard and Visa. Around the world thousands of online protesters got together to form a virtual internet attack under the name of Operation Payback. Operation Payback used denial of service (DDoS) attacks to temporarily close down the websites which had opposed Wikileaks. This way such websites cannot handle the level of web traffic and are temporarily inaccessible to users around the world. DDoS attacks are internet piracy actions and not hacking but are nevertheless illegal and traceable. It is believed that through such a system of online attacks, Wikileaks produced one of the first global internet civil-disobedience movements.  [13]  Thus one can say that internet activists can also use information technology to rebel and forcefully further their cause against individuals, corporations or the s tate through the internet. While many online activists admit that the attack was illegal they disagree on it being malicious criminal hacking since they believe that they did not intend to bring any collateral damage to the public. Online activists believed this would raise awareness of internet censorship and protect freedom of expression. They argued that that the internet should be free and not controlled by governments. Many of these activists believed that the grounds for stoppage of donations though corporations was more politically motivated than legally towards the Wikileaks website. On the other hand, these corporations argued that Wikileaks violated the companies terms of service concerning illegal behaviour. Furthermore activists pointed out that while many leading newspapers such as the New York Times and the Guardian, etc. also published parts of classified documents from Wikileaks, no action was taken against them.  [14]  The Wikileaks case therefore raises several questions on popular partic ipation of civil society using the internet and information technology to disseminate information in an effort to voice their opinions and bring about social and political awareness to instigate changes in a society. The Wikileaks saga has created many future legal concerns over the use of information technology and the internet in particular. There are concerns over increased forms of internet censorship and surveillance. The US has introduced a bill called the Securing Human Intelligence and Enforcing Lawful Dissemination Act which is aimed at preventing websites such as Wikileaks publishing classified information which could result in the compromise of national security. The US is also in the process of introducing the wiretapping bill which is currently under discussion. The bill is aimed at wiretapping all kinds of online communication and internet traffic which includes foreign based service providers and will require software developers to enable peer-to-peer communication, redesign their service and allow interception.  [15]  However many information technology advocates have argued that by implementing so many restrictions over the internet would create holes that could be exploited by hackers and undermine the right to freedom of speech. The US furious over the leak of confidential diplomatic cables, tried to invoke the Espionage Act 1917 to prosecute the Wikileaks founder Julian Assange for the leak of classified government documents. Under the Act, it a crime to disclose classified information unlawfully however it does not state any distinction on who discloses such classified information. Activists have argued that this would be complicated since the founder is technically the publisher and not the one who revealed the classified information. The man who did reveal the classified information Bradley Manning is currently being prosecuted for leaking the confidential government documents. Thus by arresting Julian Assange, or any of the leading newspapers that were involved, would further mean that any citizen who addresses or discusses classified information can be arrested on national security grounds.  [16]  Assange being a foreign citizen he would have to be extradited to the US to stand trial for espionage (if a country is prepared to hand him over). The US first amendment of the Constitution provides a lot of protection for publishers of state secrets, not including government officials. If the government is successful to get around the Constitution and charge Assange, it may end up damaging the press freedoms enjoyed by every publisher. It would result in Wikileaks paying the price for freedom of the press in the US and many parts of the world.  [17]  Many journalist activists have argued that to criminalise what Wikileaks is doing is to criminalise investigative journalism. They argue that the media is responsible to report material that comes within its possession and any pressure to shutdown Wikileaks or prosecute those who publish official leaks or companies that are doing business with it, is a threat to democracy, which relies on a free and fearless press.  [18]   However criminalising Wikileaks will not be an easy task. Wikileaks has multiple servers in many jurisdictions with generous whistleblower-protection laws. These servers are all subject to the laws of the state, where they are each connected in. The laws in these states protect the safety of such information being passed on from the servers. Currently Wikileaks is protected by the laws of different jurisdictions to pass information freely, however it is unsure whether these laws will continue to favour Wikileaks in the future if there is any pressures from other states to change or limit them.  [19]  Critics argue that the legal impact of Wikileaks on information technology will create a borderless nature of the internet. They say that Wikileaks has encouraged the fact that the internet can also be used to undermine the relationship between legally significant (online) phenomena and physical location. That the increase in the use of computer network all over the world is destroyi ng the link between geographical location and (i) the authority of local government to assert control over internet behaviour (ii) the effects of internet behaviour on people or things (iii) the legality of the efforts of a local government to enforce rules applicable to worldwide phenomena; and (iv) the ability of geographical location to give notice of which sets of rules can apply. This could make online organisations or individuals absent themselves or even exploit legal or social norms of any country by the use of multiple servers, mirrors or other information technology tools.  [20]   The legal impact of Wikileaks will have a negative effect on information technology. Due to much legislation in the pipeline in the US aiming to increase restrictions on the use of internet; censorship and blocking of websites would affect users, organizations and library associations around the world. The consequence of Wikileaks will be used as a case to support such new bills, surveillance practices and use of information technologies which extend capabilities of censorship and data surveillance, thereafter resulting in less transparency and freedom of speech.  [21]  If Wikileaks is shut down permanently then most probably a new Wikileaks will appear anytime in the future. Information security is never a single security measure since it is always more of them together meaning the measures are not only information technology related, but also involve organizational issues, human resources management, physical security and legal protection. The problem with information technolog y and the internet is that it is advancing day by day. The internet has the power for information to be quickly copied, duplicated, published and spread around the world. If Wikileaks is closed down, then new websites similar to Wikileaks will spring up or new technological ways to publish information will spring up. In other words, the threat of leaking information to the public is constantly increasing. Therefore making it harder and harder to regulate and waiting for new legislation /laws for trying to curb it. It is very difficult to draft a law that targets Wikileaks and websites alike at the same time also leaving intact many legal systems concerning press freedoms.  [22]   Information technology has become a tool for social and political change worldwide. The use of internet has globally empowered civil society and many social activists to share information instantly with one another thereby effecting public opinion around the world and encourage society towards a true democratic system. Wikileaks has been successful in exposing violations of human rights, civil liberties, corruption, and misuse of power by various international organisations and governments. On the whole I believe that citizens of a functioning democracy should be able to know what the state is saying and doing in their name and not engaging in acts of counter-democracy.  [23]  Information technology such as Wikileaks plainly improves those abilities. However I also believe that there should be equilibrium, where democracy and fundamental rights are not undermined by too much secrecy or too much transparency. The right to publish should be equal to the citizens right to know. Neve rtheless a balance should be kept for the need of personal privacy, confidentiality and disclosure in the interest of the public at the same time guaranteeing liberty, accountability and true democratic choice.
